Prague’s metro line A (green) will be closed this weekend between Dejvická and Můstek stations due to track repair works.

Alternative trams available

While this interruption may inconvenience some passengers, alternative transportation options have been put in place to ensure minimal disruption to daily commutes. During the service interruption, passengers traveling along this route are encouraged to use the replacement tram line XA or opt for line 35 as an alternative.

Additionally, commuters traveling to and from Václav Havel Airport will benefit from the strengthened service on line 100, which passes through Zličín.

The replacement tram line XA will follow a circular route, beginning at Nádraží Podbaba and passing through key stops such as Vítězné náměstí (Dejvická metro station), Hradčanská, Malostranská, Staroměstská, Národní třída, Wenceslas Square (near the Můstek metro station), Masarykovo nádraží, and Náměstí Republiky.

For those who prefer to take tram line 35, it will take the same route but in the opposite direction, providing flexibility and convenience to passengers.

Extension of bus services

In addition to the tram services, bus lines 107 and 147 will be extended through Borislavka to Červený vrch to accommodate passengers affected by the interruption. To further assist commuters, trams 8 and 18 will also run exceptionally along this route during the temporary service interruption.

It is important to note that while the Dejvická to Můstek portion of the route will be affected, the rest of the route between Dejvická and Nemocnice Motol stations, as well as Můstek and Depo Hostivař stations, will continue to operate as usual.

Passengers are advised to seek guidance from informants stationed at bus stops in case they encounter any confusion or require assistance during this period.

The temporary service interruption on route A is an essential measure to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of Prague's metro system. Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and take advantage of the alternative transportation options provided to minimize any inconvenience caused by the interruption. Normal metro service on route A is expected to resume after the completion of the track repair work.
