This Thursday, September 22, the typically car-clogged Národní Avenue will become a pedestrian zone lined with chairs and tables and groups being led on guided walks along the historic thoroughfare.

The event, which coincides with International Car-Free day, is the culmination of the annual European Mobility Week an initiative that aims to educate the public about the connection between transport and economies.

Capital cities throughout Europe will be creating new pedestrian zones and offering a variety of activities related to sustainable urban transport and public space.

In Prague, visitors will have the opportunity to create their own street using a unique app and view an exhibit on public transport in the Czech capital courtesy of the Prague Institute of Transport and Development.

Public transport will still be running.
