Prague has an impressive number of playgrounds, many of them located near landmark sites that offer amazing views (in the Franciscan gardens, under the Charles Bridge, and on Žofín island to name just a few).

This weekend a new dětské hřiště will open near Stromovka park on the Výstaviště Exhibition Grounds.

According to a spokesperson from the Výstaviště Praha organization, the modern, multi-level playground is similar in style and size to the popular play park Mirákulum, a favorite family day-trip destination in Milovice.

Výstaviště Praha aims to bring this multifunctional area back to Prague inhabitants and says that it is currently preparing a number of new multifunctional zones due to open this year.

Also opening this weekend, a cycle track developed by the Czech cycling association that will have bikes available to borrow.

The climbing structure is located just behind the west wing of the Industrial Palace.

Good news for parents, the playground is next to newly opened restaurant U Primasů serving beer from Loď Pivovar and outdoor grill fare.

Both attractions will be opened during a Prague 7 Family Day taking place this Sunday, May 20.

Festivities include theater and live music, an interactive cycle show by RideWheel and the launch of “Hidden Stories” an app that teaches important history lessons via a treasure-hunt-style game.
