New Year´s Eve In Prague 2009

Fireworks are an annual feature of the New Year celebrations in Prague, with the biggest displays visible over the center. Good vantage points to enjoy them include Charles Bridge, Prague Castle/Hradčany, Petřín Hill and by the Vltava River at Dvořákovo nábřezí/Rudolfinum/Mánesův Most (Mánes Bridge). Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are also favorite places to see in the New Year with large crowds of locals and tourists gathering before midnight. It´s worth bearing in mind that the city center open spaces can be boisterous to say the least, particularly Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square.

The Movenpick Hotel is hosting a New Year´s Eve Party in the Ballroom Zurich, with a live band playing music from the 60s to the 90s and a buffet dinner. The event starts at 8 pm and costs 90 EUR per person. The Hotel´s Il Giardino restaurant will host an “On Top of Prague” New Year´s Eve Party, with a six-course candlelit dinner, a view of the fireworks and live music.
