One for the Weekend: Prague Castle’s First Prosecco Festival

This weekend is shaping up to be a particularly tasty one. From a traditional Czech wine-harvest fest to a celebration of a famous Venezuelan culinary import here’s how to keep your schedule—and your stomach—full from Friday to Sunday in Prague:

This new market, the first no-plastic bag marketplace in town, launches in Prague this weekend. From 9am-3pm visit Řezáčovo náměstí in Prague 7—don’t forget your linen tote and wicker basket. ICYMI additional dates are scheduled for October.

More than 4,000 visitors packed last year’s outing of this two-day fest of wine, food, and burčák. Live music and free entry.

Woks will sizzle once again on Smíchovská náplavka with a multitude of chefs from Asian countries whipping up Malaysian laksa, Japanese ramen, and Thai tom yum at this fourth annual food festival on the waterfront.

Areparna pays homage to this cornbread bun stuffed with savories on World Arepa Day. Stop by Art&Food Zoona and sample other Venezuelan traditional dishes including patacones, tequeños, and alfajores. 

Head to Výstaviště for the biggest BBQ event of the year complete with live music. A number of your favorite local burger vendors and restaurants will fire up the grill; wash down yours with a local brew or two.

Enjoy a glass of sparkling prosecco in the elegant surrounds of Villa Richter at Prague Castle. Thirteen Italian winemakers will be on hand to open the inaugural outing of this festival, sure to be on of the Czech capital’s most scenic.
