Have you ever waited in line at the post office for half an hour, only to realize that you didn’t have enough cash to send or receive your goods? Tired of having to stop at the ATM to withdraw cash before heading to the post office?

For some time, post offices in the Czech Republic have accepted credit cards – but only from two banks (ČSOB and Poštovní spořitelny), and only for selected transactions.

Now, however, that’s about to change.

According to Metro.cz, credit card terminals for Visa or MasterCard transactions (from any bank) have been introduced at the main Prague post office at Jindřišská, and are currently being rolled out to other locations throughout the city.

By the end of the year, the credit card terminals will be introduced at a further 150 branches; an additional 550 locations are set to follow in 2016.

An updated list of locations that accept Visa and MasterCard payments can be downloaded from the website of Czech Post.

Yesterday, we wrote about the implementation of USB terminals in Prague buses, as the city modernizes to best serve its citizens.

What a time to be alive in Prague.
