Prague 1 Monuments to Open for FREE this Weekend

2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia, and a number of events throughout September and October will celebrate the event leading up to October 28’s national holiday.

Those events include a large-scale Czechoslovak Festival this weekend in central Prague, September 8 & 9, which is being billed as one of the biggest events celebrating the centenary.

That festival, taking place in Prague’s Old Town Square, will be free for all visitors to attend, as will another over the course of the same days: the 21st annual European Heritage Days, which will unveil hundreds of events across the Czech Republic this weekend.

In central Prague, this year’s European Heritage Days will see a number of monuments, including those that are normally not accessible to the public, open free of charge. Those monuments include locations such as Werich’s Villa and the Church of St. Petra on Na Poříčí

A total of 323 events will take place this weekend across the Czech Republic to celebrate European Heritage Days 2018.
