Prague Rated World’s 2nd-Best City for Digital Nomads

No surprises: Prague ranks highly among such individuals, with the city’s nomads providing the 7th-most check-ins to the website after Thailand’s Chiang Mai and Bangkok, London, Berlin, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.

And going by Nomad List’s “Nomad Score,” a quantitative representation of how cities rank in a variety of categories, Prague is given a near-perfect 9.9/10, second only to Budapest for cities throughout the world.

According to Nomad List, the Czech capital scores a “great” in the areas of fun, nightlife, and female-friendliness.

In terms of cost of living, quality of life, weather, internet, and foreigner-friendliness, the city has a “good” rating. The average internet speed is estimated at 20 mbps, compared to 30 mbps in Budapest.

In the categories of free WiFi, air conditioning or heating, places to work from, safety, and gay friendliness, Nomad List scores Prague as merely “okay.” Those last two are head-scratchers, though.

And Prague rates a not-so-hot “bad” in categories of English-speaking, racial tolerance, and air quality. These ratings seem questionable, too, with Prague’s air quality scoring lower than Hong Kong.

Still, the total is enough for the Czech capital to rank second in the world for digital nomads.
