The coming months offer a treasure trove of music in all genres, as bands make up the rescheduled shows from the past two years. For rock fans, the biggest act is Sting, while hip hop aficionados can appreciate 50 Cent, who will be at O2 Arena over two days, and Kendrick Lamar.
Current pop acts headed this way include Bastille, the Chainsmokers, the Dead South, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and French chanteuse Zaz. Electronic dance acts Swedish House Mafia and Parov Stelar will also be working up the crowds.
New wave stars bringing their past hits include The Cure, with former Bowie guitarist Reeves Gabrels in the current lineup, as well as concerts by Placebo and Alphaville, and for ’80s sounds with a harder edge you can find the Toy Dolls. You can also hear ’80s new wave reinterpreted by the French band Nouvelle Vague. For fans of even older music, there is Uriah Heep with original member Mick Box.
The biggest classical music event is a tribute to the late Ennio Morricone. He passed away in 2020 but had already prepared this show, which will be conducted by his son Andrea Morricone. Much of the maestro’s music was for films, and the concert will be accompanied by film projections.
