Children for Children II

This year, once again, the Skřivánek Smarties English kindergarten has decided, in cooperation with the Skřivánek language agency, to organise a public collection campaign for ill children entitled “Children for Children II.”. This time we would like to focus on the development of creativity in children who, due to their health problems, are hospitalised on a long-term basis. We would like to prepare artistic and educational materials that will help them overcome the tedious time spent in hospital and that will, at the same time, facilitate the artistic and creative development of their thinking. Before Christmas, gifts in the form of art supplies will go to young patients from throughout the Czech Republic who will unfortunately have to spend this year’s Christmas in Thomayer Hospital, Prague, instead of spending it with their families. 

From 1 November to 18 December 2010 bring any art supplies – crayons, temperas, colour paper, scratch pads, construction paper, crêpe paper, wax crayons, brushes, chalk or even rulers and help children whose health conditions force them to spend this festive time as inpatients at the pediatric ward, children’s neurology ward or children’s surgery and traumatology clinic in Thomayer Hospital, Prague. We are organising this event in cooperation with Thomayer Hospital and Centrum podpůrné péče (Supportive care center) Lékořice in Prague 4, Krč. Please, bring only new and functioning art supplies; you can also add some hygienic toys from your grown-up children, but remember that sharp objects are not suitable for safety reasons. No matter what art supplies you bring, they will all make the children happy and help them overcome the long stay in hospital.
