Fire punk circus, ballet performed by excavators, and silent film in a yurt: this summer’s most unconventional entertainment can be found Behind the Door (Za Dvermi) at the eighth annual Prague Street Theatre festival, held at exhibition grounds Výstaviště Praha Holešovice and surroundings areas from July 11–14.

Street performers from all over the world and the best Czech troupes are slated to appear. Among them Swedish punk circus Burnt Out Punks, Italian clown Matteo Galbusera, also seen in Cirque du Soleil, and the Czech-Italian acrobatic duo Circo Frico.

Spanish company La Tal returns to Prague this year with a performance about clowns and knights, as does legendary Polish company Teatr Osmégo Dnia and unusual music group Scena C who will perform their own versions of a horror, western, and Star Wars film, in a fairground yurt.

The festival performances begin daily at 5 p.m. (Monday at 9 p.m.) Evening performances begin at 9 p.m. daily. Entrance is free. For more information visit www.zadvermi.cz.
