Prague National Theater soloist Andrea Tögel Kalivodová, and a 'surprise guest' will give a live performance from the ship Explorer this evening, in celebration of the limited lifting of government COVID-19 restrictions on musical and theatrical performances.

Daniël Hagen's ship, the Explorer, will be anchored at 6 pm near Charles Bridge. Onlookers and passersby on the bridge and along the shore of the Vltava will hear the soloist perform the renowned opera Carmen, several baroque arias and excerpts from world-famous musicals.

As of today, it is allowed to hold concerts or theater performances - without spectators. To 'comply' with this restriction, organizers are asking people on the bridge and at the shore to only 'listen' to the concert while taking in the scenery of Old Town, other parts of the city skyline, or friends and family gathered with them, and not the performance itself.

The Czech mezzo-soprano Andrea Tögel Kalivodová graduated from Brno Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She currently is a soloist at the National Theater in Prague. She has performed in Europe, the US, Japan as well as other countries around the world.
