Warm weather coming this weekend, with another cold snap to follow

Above-average temperatures will last unit Tuesday, when a cold front could even bring more snow to parts of the Czech Republic.

The cool weather of the past week, which even saw some brief instances of snow and sleet, is coming to an abrupt end. Warming is taking place today and will extend through the weekend. But don't put the winter coats away just yet. Another cool snap will come during next week, with the possibility of even more snow.

"Temperatures will rise from normal values to ​​above normal, on Sunday and Monday will go up to 20 degrees Celsius," Marie Odstrčilová from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) said. The warming will be only temporary, because from Tuesday it will cool down and it may even snow again.

During Friday, a warm front will be coming into the country. Meteorologists expect temperatures rise to 10 to 14 degrees Celsius. A mild southwest to south wind will blow at a speed of 2 to 5 meters per second, and in the east there will be wind at a speed of 5 to 8 meters per second and gusts of about 15 meters per second.

On Saturday, meteorologists expect a partly cloudy sky. During the day it will be cloudy in the northwest, with showers in some places. The lowest night temperatures drop to 3 to -1 degrees Celsius. The highest daily temperatures rise to 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.

It will again be partly cloudy on Sunday. During the day there could be occasional showers with increased clouds. The lowest night temperatures could go down to 7 to 3 degrees Celsius. The highest daily temperatures could climb to 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.

On Monday it will be partly cloudy. In western part of the Czech Republic there may be rain or showers in some places. The lowest night temperatures will drop to 8 to 4 degrees Celsius. The highest daily temperatures will be between 16 and 21 degrees Celsius.

A cold front should come into the country on Tuesday. The weather from Tuesday to Thursday will be overcast with rain that could turn heavy. Eventually this could turn into snow in some areas as temperatures drop.

The lowest night temperatures on Tuesday in the western part of the country are 4 to -1 ° C, and in the east around 9 ° C. The highest daily temperatures in the west are 2 to 7 ° C, and in the east 9 to 14 ° C.
