The trailer for the Netflix film “The Gray Man” has been released, and people can finally get a glimpse of some of the action scenes that here filmed in Prague last July. The film will be released globally on the streaming service on July 22, 2022 – almost exactly a year after filming wrapped.
The fast-paced two-minute clip starts with a shot of Ryan Gosling at Charles Bridge, and after some cryptic dialogue featuring Ana De Armas and Regé-Jean Page, we see some bits of the massive action scene filmed near the Rudolfinum at náměstí Jana Palacha. A rocket-propelled grenade blows up a vehicle, with the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in the background. It had been disguised as a restaurant for the shoot.
We get a taste of the edgy dialogue as Gosling confronts Chris Evans and makes fun of his mustache, before dropping a grenade.
Gosling told Empire Magazine that almost every scene was set it up to put his character at a disadvantage. “It becomes about watching him use whatever is in his environment to gain leverage. And what he uses most consistently is a sense of humor. It’s a survival tool. If he can find what’s funny about the absurdity of the situation, he can distance himself from the danger of it,” he said.

Armored vehicles can be spied speeding across the bridge Mánesův most, with Prague Castle in the background.
Pictures shot by fans during production showed that a tram had taken some heavy damage, and viewers can now briefly see how, with a tram careening off its tracks near náměstí Republiky with Gosling on standing on top of it.
Also seen quickly is the statue of Jan Žižka at Vítkov Hill, where some sort of red-carpet ceremony is taking place. Other locations uses in Prague include the area near the Futurama office complex in Karlín and around Veletržní palác in Holešovice.
Netflix released the first official stills from the film at the end of April over Twitter.

"The Gray Man" is based on a 2009 novel by Mark Greaney about former CIA operative Court Gentry, now working as a freelance assassin.
The film has an estimated budget of over $200 million, making it the most expensive film Netflix ever produced.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo previously made four films in the Marvel superhero cycle including two Captain America entries with Chris Evans as well as two Avengers films that brought all the characters together.
It is one of several large projects that have recently been filmed in Prague, including the Amazon Prime series “Wheel of Time,” action film “Extraction 2,” Adam Sandler sci-fi vehicle “Spaceman,” Holocaust drama “White Bird,” and the fantasy series “Carnival Row.”
