American band Twenty One Pilots is the first confirmed act for Colours of Ostrava 2020

American band Twenty One Pilots, one of the biggest names on the contemporary music scene, is the first confirmed headliner for the next edition of Colors of Ostrava taking place in summer 2020.

The Grammy-award winning duo is comprised of singer and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. Their sound alternates between electropop, reggae, hip hop, drum & bass, punk, and piano ballads.

“We are looking forward to them at Colors of Ostrava because their euphoric concerts are a total experience,” says festival director Zlata Holušová. “Only the two of them do it all, supporting a perfectly visually and light-tuned show that includes plenty of disguises, fancy costumes, occasionally a burning car and the stunning energy with which Josh drums, flips, and Tyler rotates one instrument after another.”

Their videos for “Stressed Out” and “Heathens” have found an audience of billions on YouTube with the group at achieving number-one status on iTunes in 60 countries.

Twenty One Pilots hail from Ohio in the US and were named after Arthur Miller’s tragedy “All My Sons,” in which twenty-one pilots perished by human guilt. The group received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

Twenty One Pilots hs achieved tremendous worldwide success with their cross-genre approach to the serious topics of anxiety, depression, insecurity, and overcoming personal demons.

The nineteenth edition of the Colors of Ostrava festival will take place from July 15-18, 2020 in the former industrial area of ​​Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava.

The program takes place across 24 outdoor and indoor stages with performances from more than 120 foreign and domestic bands, discussions within the Meltingpot International Forum, theaters, workshops, films, art installations, and other accompanying activities.
