ABOUT THE PLAY

Two women, one chair – just like the title says. Jessie and Martine arrive at an audition to discover only a bare room with a mysterious black chair. The only instructions on what they should do are contained on the flyer advertising the play, and it soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary audition – or is it an audition at all? Will they obey the cryptic instructions? What of Damian, the director? Is this all a plot to get back at Martine, or is there something more? The answers, as always, lie in the choices Jessie and Martine are about to make….

A delightful piece that couldn’t be easier to stage – or provide more challenges for a director and two actors – this winning script has garnered a string of awards and has proved itself to be an audience winner.

REVIEWS

There was never a shred of sentimentality and the variety of response had me glued from first to last. It was a perfectly balanced tragi-comedy that took a sideways and often scornful look at the world order and the individual´s place within it.
Gemma del-Pozzo

Two Women & A Chair was a BIG hit with the audiences, in many cases the favourite out of the 3 plays that we presented that night.
K. McLoughlin-Wilden. CHATS. NSW AUST

It’s a fascinating piece and its compexity means its stays in your mind long after it has finished.
Peter Lathan , The British Theatre Guide

Two Women & A Chair has come up a treat, audiences are loving it.
