This week already saw the hottest day of the year—forecasts reached 34.9°C on Tuesday, warmer than in Rome where temps measured 33°C yesterday. Now Czech meteorologists are predicting even steamier weather, and the city is ready.
From today, Prague’s Technical Communications Department (TSK) has ordered fifteen sprinkler vehicles to hit the streets of the Czech capital. By the looks of this video from iDnes.tv, tourists in Old Town Square appreciated the refreshing mist.
The sprinklers on wheels depart at 11am and complete four circuits from Prague 1-15. They have already made an appearance in May and June of this year.
Tomorrow could see temps spiking to 35°C with “perceived temperature” reaching 38°C, which would break a 17-year-old record, say meteorolgists.
