Going Downhill

Reviewed by Michaela Mravcova 03.11.2008
Beas used to be one of my favourite lunch destinations some 2-3 years ago, with cheap but tasty vegetarian food varying every day, non-smoking environment, extremely friendly staff and a great location in the very centre of Prague (Tyn, close to Staromestske namesti). However, after I returned there two months ago and again some 3 weeks ago, I could not believe just how much downhill this place went! Both times, most of the items on the... read more

Beas is nearly perfect

I absolutely love Beas. I am lucky enough to live near the IP Pavlova location and go to Beas about 4 or 5 times a week. It is quick, convenient, tasty, inexpensive, non-smoking, has a lovely garden and I never have to wait for table service. Good Food, Bad Service

I tried out the new branch and IP Pavlova. A large, clean, well located place. The food was really good. On these things alone, I would give the place and 8 or a 9. This grumpy woman clearly hates her job, and hates serving. She sneered, sulked,... read more

I thought this place was decent and give it a 7 out of 10 when i last reviewed it. I have since returned there a few times and it was only since yesterday that i could see the awful state of the kitchen from where i was sitting. I don't to describe how dirty the grill was or how greasy and black the supposedly washed pans were hanging above one of the chefs, but this is definitely one place I will never visit again.

passable

A lot of hasangi's review rang true for us. The raita, for example, really is no good. I did enjoy the dosa menu a bit, and the free water is definitely appreciated (I hate paying for water). And it's true, you can't beat the price in Old Town. There's something wrong, though, when the small city in upstate New York in the US that I come from has 4 or 5 far superior Indian restaurants to this much lauded spot in Prague. Recommended, but not... read more
