School Aid

BASIS Prague international elementary school is looking for a flexible and reliable person to take over the role of a School Aid, who will be responsible for monitoring students and supporting them in a variety of activities throughout the day. The position allows the candidate to learn the BASIS Prague model and prepares him/her for full time classroom teaching or other roles within the school.

Salary: 27,500.00 CZK/month
Hours: 11:30 – 17:00 (5.5 hrs.)
Start date: ASAP

Job description: 

-        Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children during the day.

-        Monitoring students during snack and lunch.

-        Supervise the daily Afterschool Program (15:15 - 17:00) : engage students in meaningful activities (arts, crafts, reading), prepare the resources for the activities, help students learn and develop socially and emotionally, offer emotional support, help students resolve conflicts, offer general situational directions, ensure a general classroom cleanup.

-        Acts as an assistant teacher working closely with the Lead Teachers.

-        Act as a substitute teacher.

-        Act as substitute snack/kitchen staff.

Requirements:

-        Legally entitled to work in the Czech Republic (starting immediately)

-        Clean criminal record

-        A university student or a graduate

-        Fluent English

-        Commitment and enthusiasm for working with children

-        Experience working with children (e.g., teacher, camp counselor, nanny)

-        Proactive and self-driven mindset

-        Effective time management and prioritization skills

-        Experience living abroad or in multicultural environment

Preferred Skills:

-        Valid driver's license B and experience in driving passenger cars

Note: as of February 2025, there is potential to extend responsibilities and working hours: driving students from Podolí to Břevnov after school, ensuring the handover of students to their parents, ensuring the safety and well-being of students during all activities including transport, etc.).
