Czech Press Photo 2024 – 30th Anniversary

The Czech Press Photo 2024 exhibition celebrates 30 years of the prestigious competition, featuring over 500 photographs from 256 photographers. The display includes the winning images across eight categories, alongside a special showcase of young photographers' work. A rich accompanying program will complement this major photography event.

Japan of the Samurai – Mastery and Tradition

The Japan of the Samurai exhibition showcases a remarkable collection of Japanese swords, samurai armor, and artifacts spanning the 13th–19th centuries. Highlights include works by master swordsman Matsuba Ichiro, a prefectural "Living National Treasure," who will attend the opening, and calligraphy demonstrations by Japanese artist Mari Kučera.

Mark Florian: Sagrada Familia – Architecture of Light

Antoni Gaudí, architect of the famed Sagrada Familia, believed that architecture is the arrangement of light, and Florian's photographs explore this concept, capturing light as the central force of the building’s transcendent experience. Florian’s techniques amplify the sense of sacredness found in Gaudí's architecture, inviting viewers to connect deeply with the light-filled world of the Barcelona cathedral.

Marek Škubal: Prometheus

Sculptor Marek Škubal’s Prometheus exhibition presents a selection of his work from the past three years, including many pieces displayed for the first time. The exhibition, divided into three sections—Dreaming, Vanitas, and Myths—reflects Škubal’s interest in timeless themes and his focus on historical art forms like Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The show culminates in the monumental Prometheus sculpture, embodying the artist's disinterest in contemporary trends and his dedication to exploring universal subjects.

Visions of the World

Drawn exclusively from the Wigam collection, the exhibit explores two distinct ways of experiencing the world. This dichotomy underscores the interconnectedness of the physical and the social, with art serving as a platform for engaging with challenging topics. Featuring works from prominent contemporary artists, including Andy Warhol.

Poetics of Encryption

A group exhibition exploring the dark side of tech through the eyes of more than three dozen international artists, the Poetics of Encryption kicks off the gallery's 2025 season. This summer will see the largest exhibition to date by Paris-based Colombian artist Iván Argote. In the autumn, Galerie Rudolfinum will showcase a groundbreaking solo exhibition by Kateřina Vincourová, marking the first major solo exhibition of a Czech female artist at the gallery.

Tono Stano: A Retrospective of a Visionary Photographer

Women, Masters, Artists: 1300–1900

Displaying paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and applied arts, this groundbreaking show uncovers the often-overlooked narratives of women in art history. Spanning Central Europe, the Netherlands, and Italy, it illustrates how female artists navigated societal constraints, from their exclusion from formal education to their eventual acceptance into artistic academies. Notable figures include Angelica Kauffmann, Barbara Krafft, and Maria Sibylla Merian, whose adventurous 1699 journey to Surinam inspired her studies of nature.
