#1 Watch Czech athletes compete in the Summer Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics kicked off over this past weekend, with more than 100 Czech athletes vying for medals. In the Czech Republic, the largest fan zone to watch the games is located in Most, where a mini version of the Eiffel Tower has been erected. In Prague, the popular beer garden at Riegrovy Sady will televise the Olympics every day of the action on its big screen; entry is completely free, with reservations possible but not mandatory. At home, most events can be streamed on Max.

#2 Ring in August '24 at Prague's biggest water park

Prague water park Aquapalace Praha is a great way to beat the heat, but will also host a unique Summer New Year's Eve party on July 31. Visitors can enjoy a unique poolside party with acrobatic performances, Brazilian dances, laser shows, and more. The park will feature extended opening hours until 1 a.m. to enjoy the fun, including night rides on waterslides and a midnight toast. The venue's saunas will also offer special night ceremonies for relaxation.

#3 One of the world's biggest drum and bass events kicks off in Czechia

Billed as one of the world's largest drum and bass events, this summer's Let It Roll festival will take place from August 1 to 3 at Milovice Airport outside of Prague. The festival's line-up features over 140 international artists including headliners A.M.C, Andy C, Bou, Camo & Krooked, Dimension, Hybrid Minds, Netsky, Sigma, Wilkinson and more. The festival promises an array of performances across six designer stages, with contributions from notable music labels and brands.

#4 Experience world art through an English-language guided tour

An English-language guided tour of the Biennale Matter Of Art 2024 exhibition will take place at Prague's Trade Fair Palace on Saturday, August 3 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., courtesy of National Gallery Prague. Led by curator Katalin Erdődi, the tour will introduce visitors to the world of contemporary art through the works of more than 30 artists from across the globe. The guided tour is free to attend, but capacity is limited; ticket reservations can be booked in advance online.

#5 Prague metro closes portion of Line A over the weekend

On the weekend of August 3 and 4, metro service on part of Prague's Line A between Dejvická and Náměstí Míru stations will be suspended for modernization. The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) will install a new security device and upgrade the system's software. Passengers should plan alternative methods of transportation. Earlier this year, DPP previously interrupted service on lines A and C for similar upgrades and maintenance.
