A section of the large Na Strži Street in Prague 4 will close today and remain inaccessible for three years. This is due to the planned construction of a new metro station on the capital’s upcoming D line.
The closure applies to near the middle of the large road, which spans between Na Strži's intersection with Matěchová Street and Antala Staška Street.
Bus lines 124, 170, 193, and 904 will be affected by the closure, and will have amended routes and stop locations. Vehicles will need to go around the section via the Antala Staška, Budějovická, and Olbrachtova streets. Full information can be found here.

Since late June 2022, a different part of the street (by the intersection of the Jeremenková and Antala Staška roads) has been closed. Prague Deputy Mayor of Transport asked “all Prague citizens for their understanding regarding measures in Na Strži Street.”

Workers will build a 16-meter deep pit to assist with the construction of the new station, which is to be named the Olbrachtova metro station. They will also install escalators and elevators.
According to the Prague Public Transport Company (DPP), traffic on Na Strži Street should be restored in April 2026.
DPP hopes to launch part of the metro D line – from Pankrác to Písnice – as early as 2029. The rest of the line will be opened thereafter. Total costs are estimated at over CZK 52 billion.
