Along with most stores throughout the Czech Republic, locations of iconic Swedish furniture brand IKEA have been closed since mid-October due to the country's current anti-COVID-19 measures, which are likely to last into December.
For those craving Swedish delicacies from IKEA's food markets, however, you're still in luck.
Some of IKEA's most popular food items, including hot dogs and meatballs are now available in frozen form via the click-and-pickup service. For vegetarians, plant-based hot dogs and meatballs, launched by IKEA in recent years, are also available.
For the upcoming Christmas season, IKEA's food markets offer seasonal specialties like mulled wine and a variety of authentic Swedish gingerbread, including a DIY gingerbread house.
In addition to their own label of food goods, IKEA also offers popular Swedish treats from brands like Daim and Swedish Fish.
In Prague, IKEA has two locations on the outskirts of the city, at Černý Most and Zličín. Both are easily accessible by public transport.
If you're interested in the click-and-pickup service, however, be sure to order early in the morning.
Due to the high amount of interest, only a limited number of orders can be processed every day, and available slots tend to fill up by the noon. At this point, advance orders for future days cannot be placed.
On IKEA Czech Republic's Facebook page, some customers have reported having to place an order as early as 5:00 a.m. to be able to get an available slot.
