Prague, 12 September 2008. A new bilingual preschool Duhovka opened on 1 September in Prague 6, Kozlovská street – Hanspaulka. The school is situated in a newly reconstructed villa with a garden of 2 500 m2 and its capacity is 50 children from the age of 3 to 6. Duhovka practices the Montessori education and it places emphasis on both the Czech and English languages.
During an open day on 4 September parents had the opportunity to take a tour of the school premises, speak to the teachers and owners of the school and assess whether Duhovka is the right place for their offspring.
Children were excited about the new toys, teachers, friends and the playground in the garden and the school was filled with a pleasant and friendly atmosphere throughout the day. Those who could not make it to visit Duhovka have another opportunity to do so on another open day on Tuesday 7 October from 7:30 till 18:00.
The school is open all year from Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 18:00. At Duhovka are working qualified teachers who have completed a course in Montessori education and they continue to educate themselves and take part in international activities organised by the Montessori Society.
The school headmaster Mrs Hana Černohousová used to be a chemist by profession. Later she graduated from the School of Pedagogy – department of pedagogy and pre-school education. She holds a Czech National Montessori Diploma. She has many years of experience with running pre-school facilities and team management and she continues to educate herself in this area. During the past fifteen years she has focused on alternatives and specialises in the Montessori method. She has extensive experience from a kindergarten which used to be a work place of the Pedagogical University in Hradec Králové.
Tomáš Janeček, owner of the school, emphasises: „Happy and content children and their parents, a team consisting of experienced pedagogues and top personalities who wish to be partners for our children and create a challenging environment is our priority. We want Duhovka to become a synonym of quality in preschool education in the Czech Republic.”
