Do you like where you live? With 22 districts and an area size of almost 500 square kilometers, Prague offers a number of places and places to call home.
The housing crisis has had a major impact on where foreigners are settling. Surging housing prices in the past 12 months have led Czechs and foreigners alike to relocate further away from the hubbub and rising rents of central Prague to outer-lying districts and satellite villages.
Price is only one consideration; the availability of shops, services, and schools are deciding factors, as is the accessibility of green spaces and, for families, quietness. Those with a penchant for nightlife will gravitate toward livelier areas. Safety, of course, always comes into play.
Data from the Czech Statistical Office shows that by the end of 2021, over 236,000 foreigners or expats lived in Prague.
