The 8th annual Prague Food Festival took place this past Sunday on the lawns of Prague Castle gardens. Food critic, Grand Restaurant Guide author, and festival founder Pavel Maurer says 17,000 people attended this year’s event which featured offerings both upscale (guests could buy a ticket to the Badoit Fine Dining table and enjoy a meal prepared by a Michelin-awarded chef) and down-to-earth (a school canteen workshop showcased the country’s best school lunches). We sampled carp goulash, lavender crêpes, hermelín ice cream, and other delicacies that put Czech cuisine in a delicious new light. When asked to give us a sneak peek of next year’s coming attractions, Maurer kept mum: “This is our secret. But for sure every year brings some news.”
