Brno, Feb 21 (CTK) – London was the European city which Czechs visited most frequently by plane last year, followed by Barcelona and Paris, statistical data of the Kiwi.com air tickets seller have shown.
The data correspond to the results of a public opinion poll which Kiwi.com conducted in cooperation with the STEM/MARK polling agency.
Czechs most often travelled with the Ryanair air carrier last year, Kiwi.com said.
In 2019, London was the flight destination of every fourth Czech who booked an air ticket to one of the ten most popular cities.
Barcelona was chosen by 15 percent of the clients and Paris by 12 percent. The top ten tourist destinations also included Rome, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Malaga, Milan, Porto and Stockholm, the data show.
“From the Czech Republic’s point of view we registered an all-year persisting trend of shorter visits to European metropolises,” Kiwi.com spokesman Raymond Vrijenhoek said.
People spent an average 5.7 days in their flight destination.
Apart from Ryanair, the second and third most popular air carriers were Wizz Air and EasyJet, all three being low-cost companies.
