As summer approaches so do outdoor dining and grilling season. From new options for iced coffees to riverside dining with a Prague view, plus some openings that are sure to make homesick expats happy, these are the Czech capital's most delicious newcomers in June 2022.
Fine Dining Taste Michelin-star talent without leaving Prague
Prague's modern gastropub Červený Jelen is bringing a new world-class fine dining experience to Prague. Last week, three-Michelin-Star chef from Germany Thomas Buhner served guests gourmet meals at a special event. More Michelin star events are on the horizon with chefs from France and Denmark later this year. For more updates follow Červený Jelen.
With the riverside season in full swing, recently opened the Pitchers Bar welcomes visitors at Smíchovská náplavka ("Kobka" 15) and specializes in (what else?) giant pitchers of both boozy and non-alcoholic drinks and grilled fare.
Cafés To-die-for Danish and Italian and Colombian iced coffee
Dorado Coffee│Opened last month, this café space and art gallery located on Betlémské náměstí specialize in Colombian, Guatemalan, and Mexican beans. The space is run by an expat family living in Prague, who used to be farmers growing coffee in the mountains of their home country Colombia. Stop in and cool off with a Tonic, Espresso Tonic, or refreshing Chai tea.
Café Pascucci│A network of Italian cafés has entered the Czech market. Founded in the Italian town of Monte Cerignone and dating back to 1883 Café Pascucci serves "honest" Italian coffee and some serious iced-coffee drinks and shakes including a heavenly Frappo Fragola. Located at the corner on the corner of Dušní and V Kolkovně streets.
La Forme Krkonošská│Long-time pastry favorite La Forme has recently opened a cozy new branch on Krkonošská street in Vinohrady. Danish pastries and batch brews paired with a great atmosphere and a bright and light-filled garden are a recipe for a delicious summer pit stop.
International stars Delicious new Indian, Japanese, and Turkish eats
Fuwa Fuwa│Long-awaited Japanese pancakes are finally in Prague! Open from June 1, Fuwa Fuwa, meaning “fluffy fluffy,” in Japanese brings these wibbly-wobbly internet sensations to the international food district of Vinohrady.
Gemüse Corner Kebab│While kebabs are of course a Turkish culinary creation, we're told that German expats flock to the newly opened Londýnská street brick-and-mortar branch of the beloved I.P. Pavlova kebab stand.
Tresind│New Indian food is always a cause for celebration. Now open in Prague 6, Tresind reimagines the wonders of Indian fare in a space that evokes a bygone era of a boisterous yet elegant India.
