Tens – perhaps even hundreds – of thousands of tourists pass through Prague’s Old Town Square every day. It’s one of the most-seen locales in one of the most visited cities in the world.

But few ever see Old Town Square like this.

Using high-resolution footage captured via a stabilized drone, Vimeo channel Z ptačí perspektivy (From a Bird’s Perspective) has put together some of the most breathtaking footage of the Square ever captured on film.

Many of the Square’s landmarks – including the Astronomical Clock and Old Town Hall, Church of Our Lady before Týn, and statue of Jan Hus, can be glimpsed from angles rarely, if ever, seen before.

Judging by the time on the Astronomical Clock, much of the footage seems to be gathered at around 7:30 in the morning, hence the lack of tourists in the area.

The video is part of an ongoing series from Z ptačí perspektivy, which has filmed similar shorts focusing on castles around the Czech Republic and Prague’s Charles Bridge.
