Prague Philharmonic Orchestra back from Hollywood

Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, music creators of Mulholland Drive, Star Trek or Harry Potter, comes home. The orchestra welcomes the upcoming New Year by concerts right away twice.
First New Year´s Eve concert takes place in Obecní dům (Municipal House), at the Smetana´s Hall, on December 31st, starts at 4 pm. On programme is Dvořák´s From The New World Symphony, Ravel´s Bolero and Mozart´s renowned composition Don Giovanni which was dedicated to Prague and was first released in 1787 at the Nostic Theatre, now the Estate Theatre.
The baton over the evening holds Boris Perrenoud from Switzerland. Therefore, the last day of 2009 belongs to the classical music.
The following day, on New Year´s day again at 4 pm the same rule applies. However, the location is replaced by Dvořák´s Hall in Rudolfinum. The conductor of the orchestra is Friedemann Riehle who together with several Prague musicians established the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra in 1994. Riehle is also known as the organization director of distinguished Prague Opera Balls.
Traditionally, on the programme is Viennese music, made by Strauss dynasty represented by the Roses from the South Waltz, Tritsch-Tratsch Polka, Blue Danube Waltz, Radetzky March or March from the Gipsy Baron.
Czech classical music is on as well: Smetana´s Moldau and Dvořák´s Slavonic Dances. The guest of the concert is a star soprano Anda-Louise Bogza who sings arias from Don Giovanni and La Boheme.
Prague Philharmonic Orchestra is a world-wide known ensemble, numbering forty to ninety soloist and musicians. The orchestra plays large repertory from classical music to the interpretation of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and makes music to the golden screen cinematography. The orchestra worked with great film personalities such as Roman Polanski, David Lynch and Elmer Bernstein.
The Prague Philharmonia debuted on October 28 in the Spanish Hall of Prague Castle, after the separation of Czech Republic and Slovakia, marketing the new nation. Its first tour was to Switzerland in 1995.
Prague Philharmonic Orchestra has own recording studio at Smečky Street, a few steps from the Wenceslas Square in Prague. They frequently records also for remarkable labels such as DECCA, EMI and SonyBMG.
