Money in Prague: from prostitution to cab fares

The second edition this year of the Prague Wanderer asks tough questions: Dirty Money? Who´s got a Mistress? Why does a five-minute taxi ride cost $50?

The Prague Wanderer reports on Rocky, a male prostitute who frequents Club Valentino and claims to make more than $100,000 a year thanks to wealthy clientele, while 11-year-olds turn tricks for a pittance at the Main Train Station. Meanwhile, our young reporters get ripped off by taxis, confront violence against neo-Nazis and find out why a young Czech Television reporter thinks it’s okay to probe politician’s personal lives.

The Prague Wanderer, a Web magazine put out by New YorkUniversity in Prague‘s journalism students, is the only English-language student magazine in Central Europe. Thearticles, columns and photo essaysin the online publication are the questions and considerations of students enrolled in the program in Prague for four months. We offer you spa suggestions in Budapest and reflections on what American students find shocking about Prague, from dogs in pubs to children urinating in public.
