Sportscar travel from Czechia to Switzerland lets you live out your Bond fantasy

Think of luxury travel, and you’ll probably picture a private jet or a gleaming yacht. But as unique experiences connecting travelers with destinations in an authentic way become ever more elusive, driving holidays are moving into pole position. And that doesn’t necessarily mean a jaunt in a crowded caravan or a dreary drive to Croatia.

Jakub Hanus, founder and managing partner of Ricard & Bonette, discovered his own love of driving relatively late, after starting work at a luxury car hire company. After moving back to the Czech Republic from Switzerland, he set up Ricard & Bonette to share his knowledge of the beautiful mountain passes of Switzerland, France, Italy, and Spain with other car enthusiasts.

“I’d experienced so many beautiful places and cars and wanted to share it with others. The agency has been running for six years now. We’re still in the era of beautiful V8 and V12 engines, so we rent beautiful super sports cars like McLaren, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, and we organize driving tours throughout different regions,” said Hanus.

Reservations are now open for the agency’s best selling adventure, the Swiss Wonders Tour. Starting in Geneva, the tour takes participants through the three best and largest passes in the Swiss Alps to reach Zurich. Lifestyle experiences running alongside the four-day/three-night road trip include a boat cruise on Lac Léman, a panoramic helicopter flight, and gourmet dining.

Between eight and twelve participants will take part in the trip in rented sportscars, such as the Ferrari 488 Spyder, Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder, Porsche 911 GT3 and Mercedes AMG GT. The route covers 550 kilometers and the all-inclusive package costs €6,000 (just under CZK 150,000).

Other experiences offered by Ricard & Bonette include various possibilities to rip up racetracks, including the option to try out a real Formula 1 vehicle supervised by experts. The agency runs trips to Formula 1 races, including the famous Monaco Grand Prix, where it throws a party on a three-deck yacht in Port Hercule. Other supercar driving tours are also available, starting at €2,400 (just under CZK 60,000) per person; all of the excursions are outbound from the Czech Republic.
