Just a few years ago, asking someone in Prague where to find a good stand-up comedy show would probably have left them scratching their heads. Fast-forward to 2024, stand-up comedy has exploded, becoming one of the city’s most popular live entertainment scenes.

With shows, festivals, and open mic nights frequently popping up across town in both English and Czech, comedy has become an increasingly popular pastime for both expats and locals.

Ahead of some major comedy events—including a visit from The Comedy Store, the opening of a new comedy club, and the Fringe Festival’s first-ever comedy fest—November offers a laughs-packed cross-section of the city’s booming comedy scene.
