Simply looking at the Czech Republic's new suspension bridge is not for the faint of heart. But adrenaline junkies are in for a treat.

Sky Bridge 721, named for its staggering length, is the longest suspension footbridge in the world. It is set to open mid-May in the Czech ski resort Dolní Morava, after two years of construction.

The bridge, which takes the longest suspension footbridge record from the 516 Arouca bridge in Portugal, is perfect for a visit on a weekend getaway. Breathtaking experience and picturesque landscape will surely create a long-lasting memory.

The structure is located in East Bohemia's Dolní Morava Resort in the foothills of the Jeseníky Mountains. It hangs 95 meters above the ground at its highest point over the valley of the Mlýnský Stream and is just 1.2 meters wide.

It's surrounded by the picturesque nature area of Králický Sněžník mountain around 200 km east of Prague and "will give visitors spectacular views of natural landscapes that cannot be experienced anywhere else," writes the Daily Mail.

The suspension footbridge is located just a few meters from the popular Sky Walk – a 55-meter-high spiral wooden walkway – and spans the Mlýnský Stream valley from the ridge of Slamnik Mountain to the ridge of Chlum Mountain.

The resort website notes that entry to the bridge is not recommended for people who are afraid of heights or tend to experience dizziness, fainting, or suffer mobility issues.

The Dolní Morava resort calls it sky bridge "a unique technical feat in the Czech Republic," adding that after crossing the valley to the other side of the bridge, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the local nature and the history of the area via a new 2-km-long educational nature trail called "The Bridge of Time."

This educational trail features augmented reality components and 10 educational panels covering the topics of environmental protection and the history of Sudetenland.

The total trip length, including the journey through Sky Bridge 721 and the educational trail, is one and a half hours.
