This weekend in Prague: Gin in all its glory and Metronome is back

Gin, beer, wine, ice cream, and street food

Ten breweries will be at Prosecké Pivní Slavnosti, a beer and food festival in Prosek's Park Přátelství on June 24 and 25. Nine bands will play, food is available, and a children's zone includes a jumping castle.

The three-day Prosecco v Parku festival lets people picnic in the park next to Portheimka on June 24–26. Aside from prosecco and other beverages for adults, there will be entertainment and games for children. People can also rent picnic blankets at the spot. Entry is free, but you need a branded glass for beverages.

The summer edition of the Street Food Festival, at Smíchovská Náplavka on June 25, offers a culinary world tour from burgers to African and Asian treats. For those with a sweet tooth, there are also desserts such as fried doughnuts and waffles.

There is more to juniper-flavored liquor than just the gin and tonic, and you can find out more ways to use the beverage, and try some high-end brands at Ginfest, indoors and in the garden of Villa Pelle on June 25.

Who doesn't like ice cream? The annual Prague Ice Cream Festival lets you cool off from the summer heat with ice cream, gelato, yogurt, sorbets, vegan alternatives, and more. The city's self-proclaimed coolest festival takes place June 26 at Výstaviště.

Come to Karlínské náměstí on June 26 for the latest edition of the Karlínský street food festival. In addition to the usual food and music, there will be skateboarding demonstrations and break dancing.

Celebrate cultures and the coming Czech EU presidency

The 16th annual intercultural festival RefuFest takes place June 25 on Střelecký ostrov. People who found a second home in Prague will show their culture through music, dance performances, workshops, art exhibitions, and food. Visitors can show their support for a world where people can live in peace and security.

Ukrainian singer Marina Makovii will be at RefuFest

The emphasis is on upcycling in Recyfest, a student-based initiative with workshops, fashion shows, lectures and more aimed at putting things back into circulation. Find out more about creating a world with zero waste at Cargo Gallery on June 25.

A food festival on the street, pop-up shops in the cafe, events in the cinema, seminars, and workshops in the meeting rooms, and views from the roof. Žižkov’s cultural center Radost comes to life on June 25 with Radost až na Střechu 2022.

In anticipation of the Czech EU presidency, the festival Prague, the Heart of Europe takes place around the Rudolfinum from June 24 to July 1 and at other locations throughout the city. A French market will be at Mariánské náměstí from June 24 to 26 as part of the same series of events.

Improv has a new home

The Arena festival, at Smíchovská náplavka until July 2, fills the waterfront with local and international theater, new circus, music, and contemporary performing art. The project is overseen by the Forman Brothers.

Metronome and the return of the Tiger Lillies

The Metronome Festival runs on June 25 at Výstaviště. The headliners are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Beck, and Underworld.

The long-delayed "Bohemian Nights" show by the Tiger Lillies and Berg Orchestra finally arrives at Divadlo Archa on June 24 and 25. The songs reflect on life in Prague in the Wild '90s when Tiger Lillies made the city a home away from home.

Spend a night in the dystopian world of Blade Runner

Spend the evening with replicants at the Blade Runner double feature. The extended "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" and "Blade Runner 2049" are at kino Aero on June 24. The original film, made in 1982, was set in 2019, which is now the dystopian past.

George Michael was in the midst of making the documentary George Michael Freedom Uncut when he passed ways in 2016. He narrated the now-finished film, which also uses archival footage and interviews with his friends. It is at Bio Oko on June 25 and Přítomnost on June 26, with some additional screenings in multiplexes as well.

Support causes in Ukraine and get a tattoo

Look for all your last-minute summer needs or hunt for collectibles at Červnový blešák na Heřmaňáku (June Flea Market) at Řezáčovo náměstí on June 25.

Proceeds from a charity event for the Dům Dobra Foundation will go to humanitarian aid for Ukraine. At the fair you can buy jewelry, candles, t-shirts, stickers, or postcards, or get a photo session or a tattoo, At the end of the evening, there will be an auction of drawings of our young guests from Ukraine. It takes place June 24 at ReCompose Studio.

Letiště Letňany becomes a fairytale realm

The fifth year of Pohádkoland takes place at Letiště Letňany on June 25. Costumed mascots will appear on stages, and staff will engage children in activities. Music and performances will take place throughout the day, and children can participate in competitions.

The Laterna Fest, an international festival of multimedia and multi-genre theater, ends with the family-oriented show Ann-droid, performed by Hungary’s Bandart at the New Stage of the National Theatre on June 26.
