⏲️Don't forget: Clocks spring forward soon

Don't forget to change your clocks this weekend. In Czechia, daylight saving time, known in the EU as 'Summer Time' begins in the early hours of Sunday, March 30, at 2 a.m. local time. Clocks will move forward one hour to 3 a.m., meaning one hour less of sleep but extended daylight in the evening. Summer time will remain in effect for the next seven months before reverting to standard time again on the last Sunday of October, in line with EU directives. 🎹 Piano Day: Begin and end this week on a high note

International Piano Day, founded by pianist Nils Frahm, celebrates the piano worldwide. On Friday, March 28, as part of the ongoing Spectaculare Festival Swedish-Danish composer Henrik Lindstrand will make his Prague debut at the Prague Conservatory with Czech pianist and composer Chalupski providing support and visuals by Matyáš Baierle. For music aficionados the festival also brings Brian Eno’s ever-evolving generative documentary to Bio Oko on Monday, March 24. With 52 quintillion variations, each viewing offers a unique glimpse into his creative genius.

🌸Visitors flood Czech almond fest (you can still visit)

The annual Almond and Wine Festival in Hustopeče attracted thousands of visitors this weekend. Organizers expected 8,000 ticketed guests, but report that many more explored the blooming almond orchards for free. The event not only heralds spring, but celebrates the region’s almond-growing tradition, which dates back to the 17th century. ICYMI: You can still visit the orchards, which have been transformed into a tourist attraction with a look-out tower and almond trail, for the ultimate spring selfie.

📼 The kind of news we need: Towering tribute to '90s nostalgia

A towering tribute to nostalgia has landed in Klatovy! Czech artist Jan Kadlec has unveiled Copy, a 10-meter-tall sculpture of Rocky Balboa made from nearly 50,000 VHS tapes. Blending 80s pop culture with a modern artistic twist, the piece highlights media’s fleeting nature (it's also a commentary on the 1990s VHS boom in Czechia). On display at the Church of St. Lawrence, this epic artwork is a knockout mix of nostalgia, consumerism, and creativity. Full story here.
