Prague, March 21 (CTK) – The number of novel coronavirus cases rose by 106 today, having reached 995 in the Czech Republic, the Health Ministry has said on its website.
So far, six patients have been cured, two of them today.
Most of the infected are still in Prague and Central Bohemia.
The latest data on the ill were released at 17:55 today.
The biggest increase in a single day was recorded on Thursday, when there were 205 new cases. On Friday, the total number rose by 124.
The Czech Republic reported the first three COVID-19 cases on March 1.
The government has introduced extraordinary anti-epidemic measures since, including the state of emergency, a restriction of people’s free movement, closure of schools, restaurants and most shops, and a ban on foreigners’ entry into the country and Czechs’ departure abroad.
People are only allowed to go out with their nose and mouth covered by a face mask, respirator, shawl or scarf.
