Come to Mariánské Lázně this summer for a spa stay that also gives you the chance to savor the richness of live jazz music. Between July 14 and Aug. 25, the Falkensteiner Spa Resort Marienbad organizes its second edition of the Jazz Summer, an opportunity to revel in the brilliance of jazz performances on warm summer evenings. All performances start at 8 p.m., ensuring an evening of sophisticated entertainment, best enjoyed while sipping a refreshing glass of wine as the sun gracefully sets.

July 14: Lucie Hajíčková & Ivan Audes Trio

Accompanied by vocalist Lucie Hajíčková, the Ivan Audes Jazz trio also includes pianist Kryštof Marek and bassist Daniel Eberle. Founded by Ivan Audes in 2001, this renowned group has graced stages both in the Czech Republic and abroad, collaborating with exceptional soloists along the way.

Their repertoire predominantly showcases original compositions crafted by Ivan Audes and Kryštof Marek, a highly acclaimed composer in the realms of jazz and classical music. Recognized for his remarkable talent, Marek has garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious Czech Lion Award in 2020 for his musical contribution to the film Masaryk.

July 21: Milan Angelo Trio

Meet Milan Angelo Novák, a talented 16-year-old guitarist specializing in jazz and classical genres. Currently a student at the prestigious Prague Conservatory, Milan's dedication lies in mastering the art of solo guitar. Adding a touch of harmony to Milan's melodies is his father, Petr Novák, a skilled guitarist proficient not only in jazz but also in the sounds of the Roma dulcimer. Completing this exceptional ensemble is Josef Fečo, a virtuoso on the double bass who effortlessly traverses diverse musical genres.

July 28: Jericho Freer & Daniel Bulatkin Trio

Meet Jericho Freer, an accomplished American singer, composer, and pianist hailing from Detroit, Michigan. Freer brings with him a wealth of experience garnered during his 10-year tenure in New York, where he shared the stage with renowned musicians like Bruce Barth and Guy Mintus.

Joining him on this remarkable musical journey is a talented trio, led by young pianist Daniel Bulatkin, whose prodigious talent has propelled him to the forefront of Czech jazz. Having graced stages across 15 European countries alongside luminaries such as Ulf Wakenius, Justin Faulkner, as well as Czech jazz legends David Dorůžka and Ondřej Štveráček, Bulatkin's artistry knows no bounds. Percussionist Daniel Šoltis and bassist Tomáš Baroš complete the trio, adding their masterful touch to the musical experience.

Aug. 4: M.K. Collective

Embark on a captivating musical journey led by a dynamic five-member band, featuring a lineup of talented young musicians under the skilled guidance of renowned saxophonist Milan Krajíc, who adds a fresh and innovative twist to iconic hits. Joining forces with the band is the exceptional vocalist Petra Brabencová. Together, they breathe new life into soul, funk, hip-hop, and jazz classics, paying homage to legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and more.

Aug. 11: Justin Lavash

Hailing from London, Justin Lavash is a genuine and unfiltered artist, steadily garnering acclaim as a highly sought-after musician. With a versatile repertoire, Lavash effortlessly navigates between the realms of blues, folk, and jazz, crafting a sonic tapestry that resonates with listeners. His exceptional guitar skills often leave audiences spellbound. Rooted in classical strumming techniques, Lavash's style surprises with elements of psychedelia, and dance funk, as well as poignant and dramatic ballads, showcasing his dynamic range as an artist.

Aug. 18: Peter Befort Trio 

For over two decades, guitarist and vocalist Peter Befort, guitarist Alexey Wagner, and percussionist Zito Ferreira have shared their musical talents within the realms of Latin and jazz. United by a profound affection for Brazilian music, the band's repertoire is a rich tapestry of compositions by esteemed Brazilian, Spanish, and American composers, including the likes of Tom Jobim, Luiz Bonfá, Burke and Van Heusen, Cahn, Mercer, Young, Antonio Carmona and Ketama, and João Donato. Prepare to be transported on a melodic journey exploring their Brazilian musical heritage.

Aug. 25: Marek Novotný Quartet

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of composer and pianist Marek Novotný as he unveils his latest quartet. Joining forces with guitarist Libor Šmoldas, drummer Tomáš Hobzek, and double bassist Max Makagonov, Novotný paints a musical landscape that seamlessly blends elements of jazz and classical genres. Drawing inspiration from his composition studies at the University of Massachusetts, Novotný presents a repertoire of grand musical journeys, traversing a myriad of moods, effortlessly transitioning from the impressionistic to the realms of modern jazz, with playful and humorous undertones.
