Tropical Islands
Tropical Islands stretches across an area of 66,000 m², the size of eight football fields. It has a perfect temperature of 26 °C and is home to the world´s biggest indoor rainforest, Europe´s largest tropical sauna and spa complex, a Tropical Sea with a 200 metre-long sandy beach and many other exciting attractions including a large softplay area and crazy golf.
Germany 100km north of Dresden
With normal traffic – 3.5 hours.
All purchases are added to an electronic chip wrist band so keep an eye on how much you are buying. Drinking cups have deposits against them of 1.50 euros each so either re-use them throughout the stay or take them back to the tills for your wrist band to be recredited. Beach lounger cushions have a 10 euro deposit which will only be refunded with the till reciept (driking cups do not require the reciept).
Bring lots of your own water given the humidity levels. Bring a few towls for each person due to the sand, water and saunas. Its warm enough to sleep on the beach loungers over night with a light blanket or sheet- many people do so therefore Tropical Islands add a levy of 10 euro to each wrist band at 3am.
There is a vast array of food to choose from – enough for most peoples tastes and the all you can eat breakfast has an amazing choice.
Free – plenty of space next to the venue.
Tropical Islands is ideal for families of all ages.
Being a major attraction within Germany the venue is very safe and child friendly with clean facilities and good water quality
Combined swimming/sauna pass makes for good value – children under 4 are free. http://www.tropical-islands.de/en/visitors/tickets/admission.html
“When I was initially told about Tropical Islands I wasn´t that enthusiastic. The idea of a fake Tropical Island sounded a far cry from the type of short vaction I was used too. Within the first coulpe of hours I realiased how wrong I could be. Does it feel artifical? – well it most certainly isn’t the same as being on a beach in Bali, but at the same time you dont feel like you are at a swimming pool. Is it good fun for the family? – oh yes 100%. Would I go again – yes, and I’m not going to wait a year. The idea of visiting this oasis as an escape from the winter months is a weekend worth looking forward too. It is within reach to go for a day but I would really reccomend 2 days to get to see and do everything. All in all it left quite an impression on me, I have told everyone about our stay and our 3 year old son has informed my wife and I everyday that we need to work hard so that we can afford to go again soon. Me and my family highly reccomend Tropical Islands.”
