Prague to come alive with street theater, circus, and cabaret next week

From Monday, July 15th to Thursday, July 18th, both the city center and Prague Exhibition Grounds in Holešovice will host dozens of acts, including a program for children, for a total of 4 days filled with more than 30 performances from ensembles from 7 European countries.

“We will bring to Prague a number of great artists and foreign productions who win awards all over the world, many of which will be making their Czech premiere,” says Michaela Holbíková one of the festival’s organizers. 

Czech artists will be represented by the juggling duo Le Cabaret Nomad, The Cabinet, and Bratři v tricku who will perform a summertime ski show. The Holektiv acrobats will recall the era of the first airplanes in their street performance The Aviator. New faces of Czech alternative theater, graduates of HAMU G.N.A.T., will entertain with their performance piece Smetáček a syn.

Other must-see acts include Dutch showman Bram Graafl, the German Bängditos Theater, and Highly Sprung, an urban astronaut, who will float in front of the Industrial Palace for one day. Teatr Biuro Podrozy, the legendary Polish theater company, will also present their production Silence, which won the prestigious award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The festival will take place every day from 4 pm, except the final day of the festival, which begins with a drum show at 6:30 pm. Entrance to the entire program, except for The Expedition, is free.
