Summer Open Air Cinema Střelák 2008

The Střelecký ostrov summer festival will offer you a colourful programme of films and concerts again. The summer cinema on Střelák is the place which offers an interesting programme during the lethargic summer holidays. The island comes to life thanks to the world of magic moving frames and compelling rhythms. The offer will be enriched a by a number of special film screenings, charity events and other sport and leisure-time activities. Summer on Střelák takes place from 7 June until 31 August 2008.

12th season of the traditional summer film projection will bring you a great amount quality film experience. Programme consists of successful films currently on offer by the distribution and is supplemented by prominent Czech and foreign movies of close and distant past. June is dedicated to new Czech films. An important part of the programme is taken up by the films from this year’s Projekt 100. Dramaturgically, films with musical motive are represented and so are older Czechoslovak comedies constituting a counterpart to the more sombre films of the current production. Programme also includes a number of special screenings.

Summer cinema on Střelecký ostrov is part of the project of the Kinematograf bratří Čadíků. It was established in 1992 and since then has increased the number of its activities and became a popular and searched out cultural attraction. Its popularity has been brought about by the fact that it does not screen movies only in the centres of big cities but also in the places where a stone cinema is missing and the cultural offer is thus diminished. There are currently 13 mobile cinemas, screening mostly Czech movies, in operation. The screening has become a traditional part of most of the film and music festivals and other cultural events in the republic. Cinematograph does not only operate in the Czech and Slovak Republic but also occasionally travels to other European countries. The cinematograph will visit more than 100 towns this year.

Summer festival offers 50% discount to movies for holders of the ZTP and ZTTP.
Holders of ISIC, ALIVE (IYTC), ITIC can choose from the following discount offer:
a) 25 % discount for 4 card holders in the same place at the same time i.e. four card holders should come together and pay for three tickets only
b) 25% discount for one card holder visiting four times i.e. one card holder comes four times but pays only for three tickets
c) one card holder on one visit will get a drink voucher for the bar
d) 10% discount for concert tickets /not available with advance sale /
