The Augustine: "Best of Realty"

The Rocco Forte Collection is proud to announce that on November 12th, 2009 at the Awards ceremony The Augustine was awarded 1st place in the “Hotels” category of the Best of Realty 2009 competition. A panel of leading experts in the Czech real estate market appreciated the developer´s respectful treatment of the listed historical buildings, their harmonious combination with modern architectural features and design and luxurious execution of the project. The Augustine is a joint venture developed by Waldeck Capital LLC and Austrian-based Raiffeisen evolution and operated by The Rocco Forte Collection.

Beside The Augustine this year´s list of Prague-based nominees included the likes of hotel Kempinski and Buddha Bar hotel. The contenders were evaluated mainly according to their choice of location, the urban-planning and architectural solution, the quality of the design’s execution, and especially the project’s success on the market.

This award is already the fourth one for The Augustine since its opening in spring 2009. Earlier in November the judges of European Hotel Design Awards honoured the hotel´s Tom´s Bar as the Best Interior Design of the Year for Café, Bar, Nightclub or Lounge category. This award is shared with RDD Plc – a London based company behind the interior designs that were incorporated during the conversion of the monastery refectory into a trendy design bar. RDD´s representative comments: “The intention was to create a cocktail bar that embraced the building´s ecclesiastical inheritance but it was also to be elegant and appealing to an international clientele. “

The other recent awards for The Augustine include a CNBC Arabiya European Commercial Property Award for Best Hotel in the Czech Republic and a 2nd place in Hotelforum in Munich.
