A fascinating world of optical illusions with over 150 interactive fun exhibits can be enjoyed in Prague’s largest museum of trick illusions. They can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age.

"The Museum of Fantastic Illusions is a world of incredible optical illusions where you will become part of a captivating exhibition of fantastic optical illusions and large-format trick images," Pavel Kožíšek says. He is the owner of the museum as well as a famous Czech magician.

And not only is visiting the museum a great experience, you'll also get some great original photos. The museum, which is original in its design and different from anything else that has been seen in the Czech Republic, is ideally located in the center of Prague in Vodičkova Street. Before you visit, make sure your camera is fully charged and has enough memory space to take unusual and fun photos and videos.

"Here you will breathe the magic of old times and learn the fascinating secrets of optical illusions. Visitors like the fact that this is a museum where you can touch everything and try out how optical illusions work", explains Pavel Kožíšek.

Unexpected experiences

The scenes available are too many to list, but among them you should be able to find several fantasies that you can fulfill or even ones you didn’t know you had ranging from encounters with real historical people and events to optical illusions that change your size or seem to defy the laws of physics.

People seeking adventure can fly like a witch on a broomstick, jump out of a plane without a parachute, be carried by a dinosaur to its nest, be captured by a giant octopus, survive the Titanic, walk upside down on the ceiling of the room, or experience the torture chamber of the hangman Soapmaster. A magician can shoot you out of a cannon or levitate you. If you want, you can open the imperial vault and become a rich man – at least in a photo.

The scenarios include unusual or inaccessible places. Open the imperial vault and become a rich man – at least in photo or stand in gallery at the face of the Prague Astronomical Clock. The Good Soldier Švejk can trap you in a beer glass, or you can sit in a magic chair or a magic room that makes you small or a giant. You will turn back into a little baby in front of Karlštejn or try not to fall into the Vltava from the sunken Charles Bridge. Suddenly your head will be on a table or King Kong will feast on you.

If you prefer to encounter famous people, you can escape with Mozart from a famous painting or let Emperor Charles IV fit you for a noble status. Alchemist Edward Kelley will magically trap you in his medieval laboratory. Be surprised by what Charlie Chaplin or Albert Einstein can do to entertain you. You'll also see the real Mona Lisa smile – not the one in the painting.

You can even become a prima ballerina, see your real image in the mirror, become the most beautiful person in the world, and experience much more.
