Seasonal services that ensure the transport of bicycles to attractive tourist areas started running on Friday in South Moravia. A new train from Brno to Břeclav departs at 9:33 a.m. so that passengers have another option in addition to regular express trains one hour earlier and one hour later, according to Kordis JMK, the Integrated Transport System of the South Moravian Region.

The new four-car Moravia train, which is low floor and will offer enough places for bikes, will run on this route. The train leaves Břeclav at 17:36 and offers the possibility of trips to Pálava, the Blue Mountains, or the Lednice-Valtice area, Kordis JMK company spokesman Květoslav Havlík told ČTK.

More options for cyclists

Trains and buses run until the end of October. On the railway, passengers can use, in addition to regular connections carrying bicycles, an express train from Brno via Břeclav and Znojmo to Šatov, which runs on weekends. On the line between Zaječí and Hodonín, the trains will have special bicycle carriages. And from Tišnov to Vlkov u Tišnov there will also be an extended morning passenger train departing from Brno at 8:53 a.m.

Cycle buses run on the same routes that have been used in recent years. These are connections on regular lines that have either a holder for five bikes or a lift for transporting 20 bikes. Their list is on the website of the Integrated Transport System of the South Moravian Region.

Passengers must check which routes can carry bicycles. "The line from Brno to the Podyjí National Park is popular. The bus only changes the line number to 817 in Znojmo, passengers do not have to change trains and can get off in Čížov or Vranov nad Dyjí," said Havlík.

Bicycle tickets can be purchased both in paper form and through the Poseidon application. A one-time ticket for four hours costs CZK 40, and an all-day ticket costs CZK 80, or CZK 70 if purchased through the app. A cheaper ticket can be purchased for travel to a maximum of three zones.
