One of the most successful movie stars in the world is shooting his latest picture in Prague, though you might not have even heard of him if you’re not familiar with the Bollywood film scene.
Shah Rukh Khan, known simply as SRK, was proclaimed the “world’s biggest movie star” by Newsweek in a 2008 article that ranked him among their 50 most powerful people in the world.
SRK’s fame may not have overtaken the Western world, but his stardom reaches far beyond Bollywood: his films have a huge following in both Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Hits like My Name is Khan, Happy New Year, and Chennai Express have grossed more in international markets than in India.
And now, Khan is in the Czech capital on production of his latest movie, tentatively titled The Ring, writes the India Times.
Amateur video from the shoot, captured by Charles Bridge, appears to show the star portraying a tour guide:
The Ring, directed by Imtiaz Ali, stars Khan alongside Anushka Sharma – no Bollywood slouch herself. Sharma’s films PK and Sultan rank among the country’s highest-grossing of all time.
