Czech crowned world's most beautiful woman in pageant

Karolína Gorylová, a 24-year-old from Český Těšín in Moravia-Silesia, has won the Miss Tourism World 2023 competition staged in China. She managed to impress judges not only with her looks, but also in the talent round where she performed contemporary dance.

“Having the opportunity to showcase my talent on such a prestigious and international stage was something I have wanted for a long time. And being selected in the top six of all the talents filled me with great joy and pride,” said Gorylová in a press release that was provided to lifestyle news site Super.cz.

Gorylová added after her victory: “I hope that I will be able to use these experiences in the future and bring something positive to the world of tourism.”  She has previously won the Queen of Poland 2023 beauty pageant as well as the Miss International Summer 2022. 

Established in 2016, Miss Tourism World is geared towards utilizing pageantry as a mechanism to bolster tourism, foreign investment, and ecological awareness within host nations, which this year was China. The Black&White Productions model agency runs the pageant, and also owns licenses to run the competition in Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland.

This is the first time a woman from Czechia has won the annual competition.

This is Czechia’s most notable victory in an international, well-known beauty pageant since 2006, when Taťána Kuchařová officially became Miss World 2006 in the globe’s oldest and largest existing international beauty pageant.
