UK-based booking platform Omio has just released its “airport index” naming the Top 10 most convenient airports in Europe—the Czech capital ranked #8 among them for its cheap transport ticket and speedy airport transfer time of 15 minutes.

But in light of recent news, you might question the ease of getting to the Prague airport, at least for the moment.

Last Friday, it was announced that the usual 15-minute journey from Nádraží Veleslavín to Terminal 1 via the 119 bus is reportedly taking over an hour—enough time to miss a flight if you don’t factor in the delay.

Prague transport company spokesperson Aneta Řehková told Metro.cz: “K Letišti street is being repaired. The road is not completely closed, but there is only one lane of traffic open.”

In particular, a section of the roundabout at Terminal 3 near the bus stop U Hangáru is backed up and causing delays of up to 75 minutes; according to the DPP site, leaving for the airport well in advance is highly recommended.

While traffic police have been deployed to assist, the city says they will not be patrolling the area every day. Only authorized cars and buses are currently being allowed through; initial reports said vehicles were not being thoroughly checked.

Repairs are scheduled to continue until November 21.

On a side note, we wonder if the convenience ranking also factored in the Veleslavín station porter situation?
