For many people, Czechia is synonymous with Prague. But Brno, the country’s second-largest city, has a lot to offer. The Brno Expat Fair will help people discover the city’s expat-friendly services, clubs and communities, schools and jobs, and great cuisine.
The four floors of the Tržnice Brno complex in the city’s central square at Zelný trh will fill up on Saturday, April 22, with everything that makes the city international. Brno is often ranked as one of the best places in Czechia to live or visit. It has also become a research hub due to the number of universities as well as Czech and international businesses located there.
Brno Expat Centre normally helps people online, but they have decided to present their services at an in-person event, which is their third expat fair. Free tickets can be booked online. If you wait, though, admission at the door will be CZK 100.
“Our daily workload is to help expats solve a variety of issues relevant to their lives in Brno. We connect them with expat-friendly services, public officials, and business opportunities. We support them and help them to adjust. We decided to up the scale and bring all that into one big Expat Fair,” Brno Expat Centre said.
All expats and their families are invited to spend the day at the event. People can expect a whole day of expert seminars and interactive workshops plus a kids’ corner and a cinema. There will also be opportunities to enjoy a good meal, with a dozen different cuisines represented.
Sign up for our newsletter and win dinner for two in Brno! We will choose the winner at random for those signing up for our newsletter from now until the end of the fair on April 22, 2023 (you don't have to attend to win). Sign up here and enjoy a CZK 2,000 voucher to Castellana Trattoria Brno.
Expert advice
In the workshops and seminars, English-friendly experts will answer questions about legal issues, finance, insurance, medical services, housing, lifestyle, schools, and more.
“No matter what challenges your life in Brno has thrown your way recently, the chances are that you’ll find useful tips for solutions at the expat fair. At the very least, you’ll meet your peers while searching for answers together,” the organizers said. “That is the most amazing part of the event - hundreds of foreigners meet in one place for one day.”
The fair starts at 10 a.m. and runs to 6 p.m., followed by an afterparty. Workshops and seminars take place until 5 p.m. Last year, over 1,300 expats and their friends visited the fair throughout the day.
Brno Expat Centre is a free public service supported by the City of Brno and dedicated to helping foreign professionals. The center was founded over 10 years ago and has helped thousands of foreigners since.
