NEWTON’s Global Business and Management bachelor’s programme offers entrepreneurially-minded students the chance to experience a world-class business education in English, right in the heart of Prague. The programme can also be studied from anywhere in the world via real-time online lectures and seminars, providing all of the benefits of a conventional degree programme, without the need to relocate.

Whether a student’s ambition is to start their own business, to work for an international company in Czechia, or to work abroad, the Global Business and Management programme provides the foundation for success.

From learning the tools and methodologies of business management, to understanding the role of politics and public policy, to developing their leadership potential, graduates of the programme have all the theoretical and practical tools they need to navigate the world of business.

The success of NEWTON’s teaching philosophy is attested to by our numerous high-profile graduates, many of whom have found their way onto the Czech Forbes 30 Under 30 list. These include Oliver Dlouhý, the founder of airline ticket search engine Kiwi.com, and Lukáš Žďárský and Jakub Zajíc, who started the Vnitroblock Cafe.

One of NEWTON’s core beliefs is that we learn best through doing, which is why every NEWTON student needs to accumulate 480 hours of work experience during their undergraduate studies. To support students to find suitable placements, NEWTON’s Careers Centre matches students to internships based on their interests and career ambitions. Current partners include companies such as Nestlé, Philips and Coca-Cola.

For those who’re itching to get started in business right away, NEWTON’s Business Accelerator is an intensive five-month programme providing consultation, mentorship, support and networking opportunities. At the end of the programme, the NEWTON Angel Fund provides funding of around 300,000 CZK to the most promising projects, giving students the chance to get their businesses off the ground before they even graduate.

As the academic year draws to a close, NEWTON is holding a full programme of summer activities. Kicking off the programme was a panel discussion entitled Democratic Erosion and the Radical Right in the Post-Pandemic Era, in which three prominent academics with differing specialisms explored the way that countries around the world have responded to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following this, a Summer Conference will be held, focussing on Europe’s Post Pandemic Challenges. The two-day event will enable both current and future Global Business and Management students, as well as students from other universities and study programmes, to explore how the pandemic has transformed the worlds of business and politics.

As NEWTON prepares for the next academic year, they are offering Scholarships of Excellence to students from Belarus and Ukraine. These scholarships are offered as part of NEWTON’s commitment to promoting freedom and democracy throughout Europe and around the world. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 15 2022.
