Park Lane International School Open Day, 13th January, 9.30 – 11.30 am

Once again Park Lane will open its doors to parents looking for a quality international primary school for their children. This will be an opportunity for families to see our school, observe our children at work and play and learn about our curriculum and school philosophy. Families will be offered a tour of our school and will have the opportunity to speak with our Director, staff and current parents.

Park Lane embraces children of all nationalities. We welcomed our first pupils in September 2008 and have since been providing education in a resourceful and nurturing environment with the emphasis on the individual needs and abilities of young learners. We strive to encompass all aspects of a child’s enjoyment of school, their well-being and health, their safety, their increasing independence and their moral and physical growth. It matters to us how children learn and develop. We encourage the development of social skills and motivate the children to be the best that they can be. We place an emphasis on ‘learning by doing´ and provide children with opportunities to participate in many hands-on projects and experiential learning. We pride ourselves on being a small and caring school: parents, children and staff working in partnership to create a happy, friendly community. A high teacher to pupil ratio ensures that our students receive more one-on-one attention and individual support.

Park Lane International School is an affiliate of COBIS and follows the English National Curriculum. Moreover, we run a varied and successful club programme, sponsor cultural events and arrange school trips to help enrich our in-class learning.

At Park Lane International School, we currently offer places from Pinkies (aged 2)  to Year 3 (aged 7/8), with a view to opening up to  Year 4 aged (8/9) in September 2011.

Parents also play an important role in Park Lane. The Parents’ Association works alongside our teachers and staff to help foster a sense of student pride at Park Lane through the organisation of school and charity events, and special activities for our students.

Situated in the lovely neighbourhood of Střešovice near the centre of Prague, Park Lane resides in a newly reconstructed, purpose-built primary school with every care taken to ensure a vibrant, safe and state-of-the-art environment for our students. Classrooms are fully equipped with up-to-date resources and technology. We have a school hall, playground, multi-purpose sports pitch, library, music room and all the facilities necessary for instruction. Our classrooms are modern and spacious and rooms are fully-equipped with learning resources and multi-media technology.  We are easily accessible by public transport yet located on a small, quiet street.

Park Lane teachers are dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who are qualified and experienced native English-speaking teachers. They have taught in international schools around the world and they routinely participate in on-going professional development in order to keep up to date with current UK educational practice.
